SoukLocal supplier standards

Version 1.0 (draft for founder approval; legal review recommended before the first supplier accepts)

These standards apply to every business on SoukLocal for business (operated by SHORIQ TECH LLC). They set how businesses work on SoukLocal; commercial terms are in your separate supplier agreement. By accepting them you confirm that you may act for your business.

1. Who you are

  1. Your profile is true and current: legal name, trade licence, address, trades, the areas you work in and the people who act for the business.
  2. Your trade licence is valid and covers every service you list. You list only work that your licence, and your Dubai Municipality Contractor Register classification where it applies, allow.
  3. You keep your documents current: licence, registrations and insurance. Upload a renewed document before the old one expires. If a document expires, your SoukLocal Verified status is suspended until it is renewed.
  4. You tell SoukLocal within 5 working days if your licence, registration or insurance is suspended, cancelled or changed, or if the people who act for the business change.

2. Requests and offers

  1. You answer each invitation by the date shown: accept or decline.
  2. Your offer is honest and complete. It states what is included and what is not, the price including VAT where VAT applies, the duration and how long the offer is valid. The figures in SoukLocal match your original quotation.
  3. An issued offer is not changed. If something changes, you issue a new version.
  4. Only people you have authorised in SoukLocal issue offers or confirm agreements for your business.

3. Privacy and contact

  1. Before an agreement, SoukLocal shares the area and scope of a request with you, not the client's name or contact details. You do not ask for or share contact details outside SoukLocal before an agreement.
  2. You use a client's personal details only for that job. You do not use them for marketing, and you do not pass them to anyone who does not need them for the job.
  3. Photos of finished work are used only with the client's permission and without personal details.

4. Agreements

  1. An agreement with a client is made when the client and you both confirm the same version and option of your offer in SoukLocal.
  2. Fees and commercial terms are set in your supplier agreement with SoukLocal.
  3. SoukLocal does not supervise or guarantee the work. The agreement for the work is between you and the client.

5. The work

  1. You do the work as agreed, safely and in line with the law, including permits and approvals your work needs.
  2. You keep the insurance the SoukLocal Verified standard requires for your type of business.

6. Complaints

  1. You name a person who handles complaints and keep their details current.
  2. You answer every complaint sent through SoukLocal within 5 working days, and you follow SoukLocal's review policy.

7. Honesty

  1. You do not post or ask for false reviews, ratings or testimonials, and you do not show photos of work that is not yours.
  2. You do not offer anything to SoukLocal staff to influence a decision.

8. Verified status, suspension and removal

  1. SoukLocal checks your business against the published SoukLocal Verified standard and re-checks it when a document expires and at least every 12 months. Verified is not a guarantee of workmanship.
  2. SoukLocal may suspend your Verified status or your access while it looks into a credible report, and tells you why. SoukLocal may remove a business that breaks these standards.
  3. Requests you already have continue when your status is suspended, unless SoukLocal tells you otherwise.

9. Changes

SoukLocal may update these standards. You see the new version in SoukLocal for business and accept it within 30 days of its effective date to keep your Verified status.
