SoukLocal privacy notice

Draft for founder approval, 31 October 2026. Legal review recommended before the pilot.

SoukLocal (souklocal.ae and app.souklocal.ae) is operated by SHORIQ TECH LLC, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This notice explains what we keep about you, why, who else handles it and what you can ask us. Questions: [email protected].

What we keep

  1. If you ask for work to be done: your name, email, phone number if you give it, the area and details of the work, the files and photos you add, your messages, and the offers and agreement on your request.
  2. If you offer services: your business details, licence and registration details, the documents you upload for SoukLocal Verified, the people who act for your business, your listing, and your messages and offers.
  3. If a business names you as a past client: your name and the phone number or email the business gave us, with your agreement, and whether you confirmed that the job was finished.
  4. Records of what happened and when (for example a sign-in, a confirmation or a change), so that every decision can be checked later.

Why we use it

  1. To run your request: to share the area and scope with invited businesses, to pass on messages and offers, and to record an agreement when both sides confirm.
  2. To check businesses against the SoukLocal Verified standard.
  3. To send the emails the service needs (sign-in links, codes, receipts, reminders). We send news and offers only if you ask for them, and you can stop them at any time.
  4. To keep the service safe and to meet our legal duties.

Who sees it

  1. Before an agreement, an invited business sees only the area and scope of a request, not your name or contact details. After an agreement, the business and the client see each other's contact details for that job.
  2. Each business sees only its own conversations and offers.
  3. SoukLocal staff see what they need to run the service.
  4. Services that handle data for us: Cloudflare (secure connection to our server) and Resend (sending emails). SoukLocal's own computers in Dubai store the data and run the AI that reads documents. No AI provider outside SoukLocal receives your data today. We will update this notice before that changes.

We do not sell your data.

How long we keep it

  1. Agreements and fee records: 5 years after the agreement.
  2. Requests that did not lead to an agreement, and messages: 2 years after the request is closed.
  3. Documents of businesses that leave SoukLocal: 1 year after they leave.
  4. Contact details of past clients named by a business: deleted 90 days after the client answers, or 90 days after we asked if the client never answers.

What you can ask

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it where we do not need to keep it by law or for an agreement. Write to [email protected]. We answer within 30 days.

Cookies

We use one cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies in the app.

Changes

We update this notice when what we do changes, and show the date at the top.
